Last weekend the Union Women’s Swimming and Diving team held its Senior Day in Schenectady at the Alumni Gym Pool against visiting Ithaca College. Anne Trojanowski ’15 and Sarah Dimmit ’16 stole the show for the Dutchwomen. But, even with Trojanowski and Dimmit’s strong showings, the Dutchwomen fell to Ithaca by a score of 173-127.
Trojanowski had an outstanding afternoon, winning the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.91), the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.87) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:17.37).
Tr was also part of the first-place relay team with teammates Christina Belforti ’17, Lindsay Hemminger ’18 and Christy Brown ’17.
Diver Sarah Dimmit ’16 was perhaps equally as impressive on the diving board, as she set the school record in the 1 meter 6 dives event with a score of 266.02.
Dimmit also tied the Union Women’s Diving program record in the 3-meter event, with a score of 296.92.
Other notable performances came from Christina Belforti and Brittany Kenny ’16.
Belforti claimed two individual first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard butterfly, while also placing second in the 200-yard backstroke. Kenny ’17 placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:17.20.
The Dutchwomen will have a few weeks off before taking part in the UNYSCSA Championships from February 18-21.
