The Union Men’s Basketball team hosted league-leading Clarkson University in the Viniar Athletic Center on Friday.

After a string of tough losses in the week prior, the Dutchmen were determined to push for a win against the No. 1-ranked Golden Knights.

Forward William Hython ’16 had another strong performance with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Hython, the league leader in rebounding, recorded his 13th double-double of the season.

Guard Terrell Winney ’15 added 14 points and four assists, and guard Kevin Weckworth ’17 contributed 15 points and three assists.

A key free throw by Weckworth late in the game buoyed the Dutchmen to a 75-70 win over Clarkson.

The Dutchmen visited the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds the following evening.

Despite double-digit scoring from five different players, Union fell to Skidmore 95-78.

Guard Deshon Burgess ’17 provided 22 points and eight rebounds.

While Skidmore outperformed Union with their shooting, the distribution of the Dutchmen’s scoring in this contest is a good sign for upcoming games.

The Dutchmen will wrap up the season this week with a road game against RIT on Feb. 20, and will host Hobart at Viniar Athletic Center on Feb. 22.
