On Jan. 7, 2015, two gunmen walked into the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris and killed 12 people, including editor Stephane Charbonnier and two police officers. This was one in a series of attacks by Islamic extremists centered in Paris between Jan. 7-9, resulting in a grand total of 20 casualties.

Artists around the world have responded, calling, “Je suis Charlie,” in solidarity with the publication, including many Hollywood stars who attended the Golden Globes on Jan. 11.
