will be in Ramapo, NJ at a track meet that day, members of the team will be shaving their heads at the meet between our running, jumping and throwing events. We are going to videotape and take pictures so we can share them with the event.”
Originally Schuck, Papalian and Rose had organized the event in the fall with support of the football team, however this year with the event changed to the spring they seized the opportunity to “get the track team involved in the community.”
Given the passion these boys bring to the track and field events they participate in weekly and train in for months, it is no surprise that they are giving their all to this event as well.
The team will personally be honoring Kristen Shinebarger and Kristen’s Kause with this event, which was also their cause the last two years.
As Schuck explains, “our Union family has unfortunately been touched by cancer recently and we felt this would be a great opportunity to honor our fellow students.”
The Dutchmen are looking for all the support they can get this year with a total goal of $2,000.
Schuck, Papalian, Rose and the rest of the Dutchmen are looking for the campus to pull together in support of this fundraiser. You can donate by going to http://www.stbaldricks.org/teams/mypage/90448/2014.
