This Saturday, the Union College Concert Club presents its fall concert, featuring Matt & Kim with Blue Scholars.

Formed in Brooklyn in 2004, Matt & Kim features Matt Johnson on keyboards and Kim Schifino on drums with both as vocalists. The pair met while attending the Pratt Institue. Together, Matt & Kim play pop-punk dance music. The duo had its biggest hit in 2009 with “Daylight,” from its second of four albums, Grand.

Seattle hip-hop duo Blue Scholars joined forces in 2002. Members DJ Sabzi and MC Geologic were students at the University of Washington during this time. Blue Scholars released its first, eponymous album in 2004.

“Matt & Kim with Blue Scholars, in the College Park Ballroom, features big time performers in a small intimate venue,” said Concert Club President Steven Stangle ‘14.

“The show promises music from many genres to appeal to everyone. It’s only $5 for Union students during the presale, and it’s going to be awesome!” Stangle continued.

Tickets are $5 for students with Union ID and $20 for non-students. Doors open at 7 p.m. on Saturday and the concert begins at 8 p.m. in College Park Hall.
