In the wake of the recent controversy over an online Cosmopolitan article written by alumna and Sigma Delta Tau sister Tess Koman ‘13, which contained numerous allegations of hazing, sororities on campus, including Delta Delta Delta, Gamma Phi Beta and Sigma Delta Tau have made efforts to raise awareness of hazing.
Last week, in recognition of National Hazing Prevention Week 2013, Delta Delta Delta and Gamma Phi Beta posted and shared images on Facebook with messages like “Stop hazing now.”
On Tuesday, sisters of Sigma Delta Tau tabled outside of Reamer with a hazing awareness campaign.
The sisters created a tabletop poster reading, “I pledge not to haze or be hazed.”
Students were asked to place their fingerprints and initials on the poster to join the pledge.
