Meteorite crashes into moon: Creates a record explosion

On March 17, NASA reported a lunar impact. While NASA only became aware of the incident post-impact, the moon now has a new 20-meter-wide impact after a 40kg meteorite caused “the brightest explosion” seen since impacts have been monitored dating back to 2006. If you happened to be looking at the moon, the impact would have been visible to the naked eye.
