When the 2013-2014 academic year begins this upcoming Fall, Union e-mail will be changed from its current state.

All Union e-mail accounts are being changed from @garnet.union.edu to @union.edu

In an email to students, Ellen Borkowski, Chief Information Officer at ITS, said the following:

I am writing to give you all a quick update on your GarnetMail (powered by Google) environment.  Based on feedback from the student representatives on the Liaison Committee for Academic Computing and Technology and the desire to facilitate collaboration between faculty and students, students will be transitioned to the same Google Apps for Education environment that faculty and staff are being migrated to on July 16, 2013.

IMPORTANT ACTION ITEM:  Please change your password as soon as possible at password.garnet.union.edu.

What does this mean for you?

  • Your email addresses will change from @garnetmail.union.edu to @union.edu.

  • Your current email, contacts, calendar and docs will be migrated for you.

  • Beginning July 16, 2013, your primary email address will be @union.edu and all messages will be delivered to this new address.

  • In addition, any messages sent to your @garnetmail.union.edu email address after July 16, 2013 will be forwarded to your @union.edu address.

If you have any questions, please contact the ITS Help Desk at x6400 or[email protected].
