According to  fashion enthusiasts, the annual Academy Award ceremony is the most coveted award show of the year. The best in Hollywood come out to celebrate in stylish gowns and sharp suits. This year, many looked impeccable on the Red Carpet while others didn’t quite make the best-dressed list.

BEST DRESSED: AMANDA SEYFRIED

Les Miserables actress Amanda Seyfried has been bringing her sartorial A-game throughout this awards season, and her outfit at the Oscars was no exception. Seyfried was a vision in a custom Alexander McQueen gown, Roger Vivier shoes, and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. The lilac gown was beautifully adorned with golden floral embroidery and cutouts that made it unique. Her wispy up-do paired well with the halter-top, allowing the intricacies of the gown to shine. She tied this ethereal look together with light eye makeup and delicate jewelry.

WORST DRESSED: JENNIFER ANISTON

It is hard to wear red on the Red Carpet, but that is not even why Jennifer Aniston’s Valentino gown was a flop. The gown was very simplistic and lacked any real pizzazz. Aniston herself looked strikingly beautiful, and her signature straight locks shined, but the overal look fell flat. Aniston paired the gown with simple jewelry, but it didn’t help. It would have been far more exciting to see her in a more risky ensemble.

HONORABLE MENTION: HELEN HUNT

Hunt rocked a purple H&M gown on the red carpet. If there is any lesson fashionistas on a budget can learn from the Oscars this year, it’s that if H&M is good enough for the Red Carpet, it’s good enough for you.
