Amongst the sequins and strapless gowns, there were a few winners and some that just missed the mark.
Best dressed goes to Anne Hathaway in a winter white gown by Chanel. The jewel encrusted dress stars as the focal point of the ensemble with simple and delicate accessories. The balance between the structured top with subtle flares at the waist creates a more dynamic look. Not to mention the way she rocks her post-Fantine pixie cut – she’s come a long way since her Mia Thermopolis days, and I don’t hate it.
Worst dressed goes to poor Alyssa Milano. Someone should have told her it isn’t a requirement to dress as a candy for the Globes. Looking like a Werther’s Original really made this ensemble miss the mark. However, her turquoise drop earrings are stunning and do contrast nicely with the gown.
Honorable mentions go to Kristin Wiig in Michael Kors and Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior.
This is just the beginning. The best is yet to come.
