Warm apple cider, hayrides, crunchy apples, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches are all staples of this colorful season that is approaching more quickly than usual.
Bellinger’s Orchard, tucked away in the expansive countryside of the Capital Region, has all of these simple pleasures.
If you’re looking for an enjoyable weekend adventure that will get you in the fall spirit, a day at Bellinger’s is sure to do the trick.
The orchard has 28 different kinds of apples, including McIntosh, Honeycrisp, Golden Delicious and Jonagold. Pickers can buy bags of varying sizes to fill to the brim with the apples of their choice.
However, apple picking is not the only activity that celebrates the season at Bellinger’s.
Fall favorites such as hayrides and corn mazes are popular with the younger customers and the nostalgic, fun-loving adults.
The never-ending line for the melt-in-your-mouth apple cider donuts and warm apple cider is filled with people of all ages, and none of them seem to be annoyed with the 20 minute wait. They must know it is worth it, especially since each order of donuts comes fresh out of the oven.
The extensive pumpkin patch is already overflowing with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes and offers a breathtaking view of the Catskills to enjoy while carefully choosing the perfect ones for pie or carving.
If you’re worried about the 45-minute drive to get there, I assure you it is worth it. Not only does the beautiful landscape along the highway make the time pass quickly, but the picturesque day you are sure to have at Bellinger’s makes up for any lost time.
Don’t forget to stop by the store on the way out. It is full of goodies that you won’t want to miss out on.
You might want a dozen of those mouth-watering donuts to bring back to your friends or maybe even your professors (if you need to move up a letter grade or two).
The apple crisp mix also sold in the store is a perfect way to enjoy those freshly picked apples.
