It’s no secret that college life can be expensive. Additionally, finding a job off-campus can prove difficult.
In response, some students seek out jobs on-campus to earn a few extra bucks. Some work in the library, some in the gym, and then there are students like Nicky Hoberman ‘11 who work at one of the food spots on campus.
Hoberman decided to work at O3 after seeing a sign saying they were looking for students to work there. Nicky found O3 to be a great fit because of his love for food.
It also lets him see his friends, meet new people, and he gets to work with great company. He told me that the two women he works with, Yvonne and Suzette, are “two of the funniest people I have met.”
A benefit of working at O3 is that it doesn’t take over his life. He works on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
While he works in a cramped and hot space behind the counter, he has really enjoyed the experience of working at O3 and is glad he decided to work there.
Occasionally, people will come up to Hoberman when he’s out and call him “the O3 guy.” He is known for making some of the best sandwiches at O3, and so it is necessary to find out what the O3 guy likes to eat when he is making his own O3 food. His favorite meal is “a wheat bread sandwich slightly toasted with cran-mayo, turkey, onions, mozzarella, and a soup, preferably the corn chowder or the Moroccan stew.”
