This past weekend, the men and women of the Union College crew team traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to participate in the prestigious Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.
Both teams were coming off of strong performances at the Head of the Mohawk race two weeks prior. The Men’s Novice Eight beat RPI and SUNY Albany to the finish line, while the Varsity Eight tied with Vassar with a time of 12:39. On the women’s side, the Novice Eight set a course record and the Varsity Eight won the Aqueduct Cup beating RPI and SUNY Albany with a time of 13:57.
Both the men and women continued their success this weekend. Head Coach Tom White was quoted about the team’s performance, “I can’t think of the last time our team collectively performed on such a high level.”
The results were as follows:
- Women’s Novice Four: 6th/16 crews
- Women’s Varsity Four: 22nd /32 crews
- Women’s Novice Eight: 12th /26 crews
- Women’s Varsity Eight: 9th/22 crews
- Men’s Novice Eight: 9th /25 crews
- Men’s Varsity Eight: 8th/22 crews
Congratulations to all crews on finishing the season with such a strong performance. With Varsity members returning from abroad, the spring season is forecasted to produce some excellent results.
