  • We have some very exciting news! Starting spring term, from Monday to Friday, students will have access to Schaffer Library with their Union IDs starting at 7:15 a.m. This early opening will be for study use only. The library’s regular services will begin at 7:45 a.m. This was an initiative of Student Forum and is being implemented by the library staff. The two groups have worked closely to adjust library hours based on the feedback students have given us from our Tuesdays with Forum. Please remember that the extended morning hours are part of a pilot program. Library use will be closely monitored by the library and Campus Safety, and they will be adjusted as the staff sees fit. The library currently opens at 8 a.m.

  • As part of the interview process, members on Student Forum will be meeting with the candidates for the VP of Academics Affairs throughout the remainder of the term.

  • Chet’s Update: The five students selected to run Chet’s met with Director of Dining Services Jeff Kurto and Student Forum President Ilan Levine ’16 to discuss the business model. They are aiming for a launch at the beginning of spring term.

  • Colleges Against Cancer will be sponsoring this year’s Dutchmen Dip, this Sunday, March 6, at 1 p.m. in front of Reamer Campus Center! Please come out to support fellow students and their efforts to fundraise in support of members of the Union community struggling with cancer. Hope to see you there! #DipForU

  • Student Forum voted and approved funding for Club Baseball. We hope to see great things from them soon.

  • The presidents of the Inter-Fraternity Council, the Panhellenic Council, and Multicultural Greek Council have written a draft of criteria that indicates why people can be turned away from social events. This is a student initiative to try to prevent micro-aggressions from taking place at social events on campus. It will be finalized and implemented starting spring term.
