Q: Can you briefly explain your experience playing tennis before coming to Union? A: Since I was ten, I played in Junior USTA tournaments around New England as well as national tournaments around the country. My junior team made it to nationals twice and reached a high of second place in the country in 2013. I was ranked within the top 20 in New England for most of my junior career before coming to Union. I also played high school tennis, where I earned third in the state all four years of high school.

Q: What are some of your favorite things about being on the tennis team?

A: When I first joined the team in the fall, I was the only first year on the team. Entering a close team as a singular rookie is always a hard place to be in. But after two days of preseason, I felt like I was on the team for years and considered all the girls family. We spent every second together. My favorite thing about being on the tennis team is knowing I will always have these girls to count on.

Q: What has been the highlight of your tennis career so far, whether it be at Union or in high school?

A: My highlight of my tennis career was making it to nationals with my junior tennis team. It was a great experience that I will always remember. I hope to have a chance to have a similar journey with Union’s tennis team.

Q: If you could play another sport at Union, what would it be and why?

A: Women’s basketball. My best friend at Union is on the basketball team and it looks like a great time. Her team gives her a drive to put in all she can at practice, lift and games. That is something I would like to provide my team with as well. She is always going for extra individuals and pick-up games which shows me just how much she loves the game. Also, all the girls I have met on the team are some of the nicest people I have met at Union.

Q: What is your favorite thing to eat on campus?

A: My favorite thing to eat on campus is sushi.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the Schenectady area and why?

A: My favorite restaurant is Perreca’s. I grew up on pasta, pizza, sausage, fish and lots of garlic being in an Italian family, so Perreca’s brings me back to my Dad’s Christmas Eve dinners whenever I go.

Q: If your teammates were to give you a superlative, what would it be?

A: They’d probably give me, “most likely to out-eat a football team.”
