Q: When did you start playing rugby and what got you interested in it?
A:   I started playing last spring during my freshman year. One of my friends who I play hockey with thought I would be good so she made me come to a practice.

Q: Who are your favorite and least favorite teams to compete against?
A: I enjoy playing SUNY Albany because they are a good team so it’s always a good game and the girls are really nice and always stay to hangout after and eat pizza. I wouldn’t say there is one team I dislike competing against the most. I enjoy all games unless the other team is unsportsmanlike and mean. It’s more fun to play a good game with nice people, than to play a dirty game with mean ones.

Q : What’s the toughest thing about playing rugby?
A : I would have to say the toughest part about playing rugby would have to be the day after a game day. Rugby is full-contact so I usually wake up the next day with muscles I didn’t even know I had feeling really sore and in pain, but it’s so much fun that I still look forward to the next game.

Q: What’s one thing people may be surprised to know about the rugby team?
A:  The rugby team can look intimidating to people who aren’t on it but in fact it’s comprised of the nicest, friendliest people I know. They are always looking forward to meeting new people and welcoming new people to the team.

Q: What would you say to someone interested in trying out rugby?
A:  If you have even the slightest interest in playing, come to practice. You don’t need to have any experience or even know the rules. Everyone on the team will help teach you the game and I promise it will be a lot of fun.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Union?
A: My favorite thing about Union is the size. I like being able to walk around campus and know a lot of the people I run into.

Q: What’s your go-to food of choice in Reamer?
A:  My go-to food in reamer is buffalo chicken quesadilla with a side of salsa and guacamole.

Q: What’s your favorite restaurant in Schenectady?
A: My favorite restaurant would have to be Taj Mahal because of its great Indian food and very nice service.
