Q: When did you start playing baseball and what got you interested in it?

A: I’ve been playing since I was two years old. I started playing organized baseball at the T-ball level. Both my parents were really big players and I was always playing wiffle ball with them when I was young.

Q: Did you play any other sports in high school?

A: I played football when I was in high school and I played soccer and basketball when I was really young. My two main sports were baseball and football.

Q: What’s the main difference you’ve seen between high school baseball and college baseball?

A: The main difference is just the speed of the game. Everyone pitches faster, runs faster and throws harder. In high school, teams would have weak spots but in college everyone is recruited so you don’t see those weak spots.

Q: What’s your favorite team you’ve played against so far?

A: My favorite game so far was the one we played against RIT. I hit two home runs and one of those was at the top of the ninth inning. It was probably the best game I’ve ever played.

Q: What are your baseball goals for the future?

A: While the main goal is to get to the Liberty League championship which we have a good chance of achieving this year. We have an amazing pitching staff. Also, it would be awesome to go to the national championship or even just to get a bid to play in the tournament. We definitely have a shot this year.

There’s a lot of camaraderie on this team. If it doesn’t happen this year though, it will happen by the time I’m a senior.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Union?

A: My favorite thing is the people. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. I’ve made some great friends already and just have met a lot of really great people.

Q: What’s your favorite place on campus?

A: My favorite place is probably Reamer for the food.

Q: What’s your favorite restaurant in Schenectady?

A: My favorite restaurant is Marotta’s.
