Offseason spotlight on women’s soccer

The women’s soccer team had a respectable 2015 season, racking up seven wins, six losses and three ties.

Before their season began in early fall, the Dutchwomen traveled to Spain as a team to compete against several Spanish squads.

Former captain Jessica Farland ’16 said, “It was an amazing trip and really helped us bond as a team.”

The Dutchwomen were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Spain while playing the sport they love. After a long fall season, the team is back and training harder than ever.

The Dutchwomen are looking forward to next season, which may seem far off to some, but is right around the corner, in their eyes.

I spoke to another former captain, Bre Derella ’16, who reflected on the season. She said, “We all put forth our best effort this year. I am going to miss the team next year, but I am very hopeful that they will be successful in their upcoming season.”
