Men’s, women’s tennis prepare for spring season

The Union College Men’s Tennis Team ended their fall season with a win and a loss, competing against Bard and Vassar.

The Dutchmen had two new additions to their squad last season: rookies Zach Kaplan ’19 and Max McGeown ’19. On the women’s side, the team had a fall season that consisted of five competitions; the Dutchwomen ended with a 2-3 record.

I was able to speak to Margaret Oppenheim ’17 who said, “With five talented freshmen on the women’s team, we are going to have a successful season ahead.”

Both teams also welcomed a new head coach, Brian Bowman, who previously coached at Rochester.

Looking ahead, the Dutchmen will have their first match on Mar. 6 against Le Moyne and the Dutchwomen will compete against St. Lawrence on Mar. 5.

Both squads will be going to Orlando, Fla. during spring break for a training trip that will consist of four contests.
