Q: When did you start playing basketball and what got you interested in it?
A: I started playing in second grade. I’m from a big family with five siblings, three brothers and two sisters, but none of them are athletic. I’ve played soccer, basketball and lacrosse but really fell in love with basketball.
Q: The women’s basketball team is doing well this season. How are you guys keeping up your momentum?
A: We are really big on just trusting the process. We all try to give perfect effort and give our all during every practice. We’re just carrying out our process and doing what we need to do to be successful.
Q: What are the team’s main strengths and weaknesses?
A: Our main strength is that we’re very transition-oriented; we’re really fast and have good drivers and shooters. Our biggest weakness, which we are working on turning into a strength, is our communication on defense.
Q: What has been your greatest memory with the Union Women’s Basketball team so far?
A: My favorite memory off the court would have to be during winter break last year, my freshman year, when we were on campus. We would get dinner and watch movies in Sorum House and we really became a family. On the court, my favorite memory happened this year when we came back from a 17 point deficit against Clarkson and ended up winning the game by six points.
Q: Which team is your favorite to compete against?
A: My favorite team to compete against is St. Lawrence; they’re always very solid, with good players in general. Our most emotional and aggressive game is normally Clarkson and that’s who we had the big comeback against this year.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Union?
A: My favorite thing about Union is the small-campus feel, because it really develops a community. I like walking around campus and always seeing familiar faces. Also, joining Sigma Delta Tau has given me a really solid group of friends.
Q: What’s your go-to food of choice at Reamer?
A: An O3 wrap with chicken salad, avocado, cheese and Craisins.
Q: What’s your favorite restaurant in Schenectady?
A: My favorite restaurant is Zen.
