Alexis Wojtowicz is the new Vice President of Academics

  1. What does your position entail?

As part of my position, I will continue to represent the student body as a voting member of the Academic Affairs Council (AAC), which meets weekly to monitor the academic climate of the college in terms of course offerings, curriculum, tenure lines, and other academic policies. I also will report back as a voting member of the Executive Board at the weekly Student Forum meetings.

  1. What are your goals for the position?

My goals as VP of Academics include maintaining the current academic climate as Union as well as improving certain academic policies, such as the pass-fail policy.

  1. How did you feel when you received the news that you won?

I felt extremely proud when I received the good news that I had won. I was actually waiting in line for a Lobsterfest shirt when the email was sent out, and everyone around me started congratulating me.

  1. Do you have any initiatives/plans that you would want/plan to introduce on campus anytime soon?

I will not only use my best judgement and two years of experience on the AAC in determining how academic policies will affect students, but I will also suggest reaching out to the student body with a survey to gauge their attitudes and opinions as well.
