Popular Union Street eatery Marotta’s Bar-Risto is set to close for the next four to six weeks for a “complete relaunch,” according to the Times Union.
Marotta’s, which has been a popular choice for dining among Union students, first opened its doors back in April 2012. The restaurant has added a tunnel lounge and initiated a delivery service, further boosting its popularity with the college crowd.
According to the Times Union, owner Chris Marotta said the relaunch includes plans for a new menu and renovations inside the restaurant.
Catering coordinator Sara Benson told the Daily Gazette that the eatery would keep its name and the renovations would be focused inside the building only. The eatery will continue to serve classic Italian cuisine following the renovation.
For now, the restaurant is not returning any calls, and customers can visit either the restaurant’s website or their Facebook page for more information.
The Facebook page for Marotta’s Bar-Risto says that the restaurant is expected to reopen in late February.
