After losses to Hamilton College and SUNY Oneonta earlier in the week, the senior-laden squad bounced back with their first victory of the spring season.
Seniors Saul Kurtz, Matt Goodnow, and Mike Kanner picked up wins in both singles and doubles. Kurtz and Kanner teamed up for an 8-6 victory at second doubles against LeMoyne’s Joseph Persia and Daryl Persia, while Goodnow and sophomore Andrew Schwartz came back from a 6-5 deficit to defeat Cameron Smith and Alessandro Nieves 8-6 in the third doubles spot.
In singles, junior Dan Nault picked up his first singles win of the season by defeating Daniel Sullivan at first singles. After losing the first set, Nault stormed back and took the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Freshman Shaun Champaneria was also impressive in singles, defeating Ken Schiefer 6-3, 6-2 in the second singles spot.
The Men’s team returns to the courts on April 25 for a home match against Sean Barr and the Hartwick College Hawks.
