Delta Delta Delta President responds to Dean McEvoy

This article was submitted in response to an article written by Dean McEvoy earlier today.

It is extremely disappointing that TriDelta is being ridiculed as Dean McEvoy defends his sanctions against DKE.

After taking the initiative to “reform from within,” the Task Force was established. We have worked tirelessly to make the system safer, healthier, and more accountable for all students by abiding by national guidelines.

Quite frankly, I don’t understand what message Dean McEvoy was trying to send by writing his article. DKE and TriDelta’s cases are completely different and not connected in any way. I find it unbelievable that Dean McEvoy is unwilling to stand by his decision without bringing TriDelta into this completely unrelated case. It is clear that the students view Dean McEvoy’s article as a transparent attempt to shift the blame away from himself.

Many of the Greek leaders, including myself, came to Union for its academic excellence. While here, we rely on the administration to help us continue on our path of academic and personal growth.

It is disappointing knowing that Dean McEvoy’s intentions appear to be adversarial rather than cooperative. I hope that the administration realizes that we all have the same goal; we want to make Union College the best it can be.  Attempting to pit students against one another is not the answer.

    FOUR FOR YOU LIBROT!
I couldn’t have said it better myself.

    1. Thank You!

      Snaps indeed.

SNAPS! We are all proud of our individual houses but the stand the current greeks are taking in response to this injustice should make us all proud to be Union College Greeks!

Thank you Amanda for this response. We all need to stand together on this one!

All the sisters in Tri Delta have worked extremely hard to get where they are compared to last year. We have stood by everything we said and we try and give our all in every aspect of what we do. I for one, and extremely proud of the sisters and the support we give to each other, other greeks, and our entire student body.

Our President, Amanda Librot, along with many (and all) sisters worked extremely hard to show the deans and our school what Tri Delta means and what we are all about. We ALL stand by each other, and stand by every greek organization around.

I believe that Amanda’s article hits this on the point. And am ashamed that Delta was brought up in Dean McEvoy’s letter, and even more ashamed of the replies by students who are turning against each other, and greeks turning against other greeks.

I feel as though greeks arent turning against other greeks, it is just other people claiming to be people they arent and trying to cause division within the greek system. dont believe it!

Amanda this is a great article and I commend you and all of the Tri-Delta sisters for the work you have done. It is a great disrespect to you and all of your sisters with what Dean McEvoy wrote. We must all stand together in this time or be brought down by the institution that we call home. Joining a Greek institution changed my life and I have never looked back. To see now that our history might be wiped away because of a small incident is severely disappointing. I hope that we have your full support as I was great friends with many of your sisters while in school. We could use the support of all other Greek institutions on campus during this trying time.

I could not be prouder that you are our president. Amanda you are amazing and completely right.

  6. Jeremy Boling

Yeah, but the administration is going to keep getting their way. You greeks are pushovers!

    Amanda,

Your reply was very eloquent and insightful. You accurately and correctly described the class warfare Dean McEvoy is inciting with his response. This a tactic Liberals use to control those with whom they disagree. You need to look no further than Washington, D.C.for countless other examples. I would not be surprised if further attempts are made by the Union administration to personally discredit those who are not on their side. Don’t give up.
