[/media-credit]On Monday, April 25, Robert Gibbs will give a talk at 7 p.m. in Memorial Chapel.
Robert Gibbs has been a close aide to President Obama since his run for the U.S. Senate in 2004, having served as his Communications Director for both in 2004 and the 2008 Presidential campaign. Following Obama’s victory Gibbs was named White House Press Secretary and served that role until February 2011.
As a presidential advisor, Gibbs is in fluid conversation with President Obama about the myriad issues being addressed by the White House: domestic, foreign, social, economic, and national security issues and legislative issues being negotiated with Congress including healthcare, taxes, budgets and upcoming battles for Congressional leadership, which may change with dramatic effects in the upcoming 2012 election.
Gibbs is invested in the race as he has signed on again to work on Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign as an outside advisor.
Gibbs’s talk is entitled “Inside Washington: What’s Next”, and will address a full range of topics from the perspective of a presidential insider.
