In an adventurous world, a day passes by. Performers make use of their surroundings, displaying their habits, activities and daily routines of a 24-hour period.
With the committed minds and physical engagement of its large cast of thirty performers, the production created by Dance Director Miryam Moutillet will guide you through a dreamlike adventure.
A Day in Motion is a thrilling experience where performers will reach out to explore a wide range of expressions with props and theatrical gestures to portray the pace of our lives.
From wake-up calls to working, studying, cooking, eating or going out, the day flies by. Presented in a panoramic stage setting, projections will invite the audience to view powerful imagery.
The live music composed by Andy Iorio and Tristan Allen will provide a rhythm for daily rituals and a home for many escapades.
Choreographies by Marcus Rogers will transport you from a humorous, chaotic office setting to the splendors of a Lady Gaga club scene.
Artistic collaborators Charles Batson (Professor of French) and Hillel Meltzer (former performer with Stomp/Broadway), have brought to life pulsating moments of school and cooking scenes that will delight the audience.
Dance Project students, Jessica Nagourney ‘12, Alyssa Simeone ‘11, and Ayanna Vinson-Dobson ‘11 strut their creativity with fascinating dance scenes. Interludes by the Physical Theatre course explode throughout the show to keep you on the edge.
Our team of theater/dance designers Charles Steckler (Scenery), Brittney Belz (Costumes), and Steven Michalek (Lighting) bring to the show their outstanding concepts and artistic wizardry.
