Shopping to prevent child abuse in America

Sigma Delta Tau hosted a private sale with a boutique called Piper on Tuesday, Feb. 28.The event was put together by SDT’s Vice Presidents of Philanthropy, Elise Malkin  ‘13 and Tori Bailey ‘14.

In addition to showing clothes that touch on some of the latest trends, Piper brought gorgeous handbags and stylish jewelry.

Piper stands out because of the great quality of the clothes and the affordable prices compared to other stores in the surrounding area, especially Saratoga, where the Piper store is located.

In addition, there was also a beneficial charity aspect to the sale.

At the end of the event, 10 percent of the money that was fundraised was donated directly to Prevent Child Abuse America, Sigma Delta Tau’s philanthropy.

Q: What boutique is sponsoring your sale?

A: The boutique is called Piper, located in Saratoga. It is different from other boutiques in our area because it is not overpriced and the clothes are still of great quality.

Q: What are some of the brands that they have?

A: There are various designers including BB Dakota and Sugar Lips, amongst many.

Q: What is the sale benefitting?

A: 10 percent of the proceeds from the sale go to our philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America. We’re so happy to be able to help a great cause!
