[/media-credit]Happy Cappuccino provides a cozy space to just grab a cup of coffee on your way to the Farmer’s Market or settle down for a day of studying away from campus.
Owner Matt Robbins was previously involved in the corporate world when he decided that he no longer wanted to be involved in the humdrum of that life. He had always wanted to own a café or a diner, so he did some research and was motivated to open The Happy Cappuccino.
In addition to having great coffee, a lot of which are specialty blends and specially ordered, the coffee house also offers a different atmosphere that students can utilize as a place for study or just relaxation.
“One of my happiest days of business last term was at the end of Union’s trimester, during finals,” Robbins said. “The coffee house was packed with students on their computers studying the day away. It was great!”
Stacey Berger ‘13 recently visited the coffee house with a friend, and raved about its value as a place for students.
“I can completely see me and my friends going there to relax and study. There’s such a great environment, and finding great off-campus coffee is always a plus,” she said.
The coffee house has wi-fi and there is live music every Thursday. They have Facebook and Twitter pages, and they have plans to work with the Union campus for certain events.
They are also working with the Minerva program to organize a coffee tasting.
The Happy Cappuccino is open Monday to Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. Sundays they are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
