  • Happy Founders Day! Come to Memorial Chapel at 12:50 p.m. to hear a speech by Sherry Turkle, this year’s Founders Day keynote speaker.

 

  • The results of the special election for the new VP of Administration are in. Congratulations to Arthur Schutzberg ’17 for winning the election. He will be instated spring term. Thank you to all the candidates who took the time to run!

 

  • Speakers Forum is bringing New York Times bestselling author Harlan Cohen to speak on campus on March 7 at 5 p.m. He will be discussing healthy dating, consent and bystander awareness. At 6:30, Cohen will hold a leadership workshop co-sponsored by Student Forum and Speakers Forum. All are welcome to attend both events.

 

  • CDTA Update: Forum voted to move forward with negotiating a contract with CDTA. VP of Sustainability Anna Doran ’17 will be talking to CDTA to get a quote for how much a pilot program would cost.

 

  • This week Student Forum voted on two amendments to its constitution. Forum voted against adopting language that would require Forum members to have a GPA of at least 2.5 and under five disciplinary points. Forum voted to reaffirm the position of VP of Sustainability, which was lost in a previous version of the constitution.

 

  • Student Forum has approved additional funding for Men’s Club Hockey, which requested $3,146 to pay for transportation, board and coaches for upcoming playoff games in Rochester, N.Y., and Ohio. Good luck, guys!

 

  • Applications have been sent out for two open positions on the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee approves all spending from the Student Activities fee and plays a very important role in student life. Applications are due Sunday at midnight and can be emailed to Kian Nowrouzi ’16 or delivered to Student Activities.
